On the morning of September 2, Chen Jianguang, Deputy General Manager and member of the Party Leadership Group of China Minmetals, Secretary of the Party Committee of MCC, and Chairman of MCC and China MCC, met with Shan Xiangqian, Secretary of the CPC Wuhu Municipal Committee of Anhui Province, at the headquarters of MCC. The two sides held in-depth discussions and exchanges on further deepening cooperation in the fields of municipal transportation, urban renewal, ecological and environmental protection, and new energy materials.
Chen Jianguang welcomed the visit of Shan Xiangqian and his entourage and briefly introduced the basic situation of MCC. He said that MCC has successfully achieved transformation in recent years by virtue of its professional and technical advantages and business qualification advantages in iron and steel metallurgy, and has made excellent achievements and accumulated rich experience in municipal infrastructure, rail transit, urban renewal, livelihood engineering, ecological and environmental protection, and new energy materials. As an import and export port of the Yangtze River, Wuhu has a prominent strategic position, broad market space, and huge development potential. MCC and Wuhu have a deep sense of cooperation and a good foundation for cooperation. Many of its subsidiaries have undertaken a series of key benchmarking projects in the local area, which has been highly praised by all sectors of society. He hoped that the two sides will further innovate the cooperation mode on the basis of existing cooperation, strengthen cooperation in the broader fields of municipal transportation, urban renewal, ecological and environmental protection, and new energy materials, work together to create a new model of central-local government cooperation, and jointly make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of Wuhu"s social economy.
Shan Xiangqian expressed his gratitude to MCC for its long-term support to Wuhu, and briefly introduced the basic situation and development plan of Wuhu. He said that Wuhu is located at the junction of the Yangtze River Delta with the highest level of economic development and the central region with the fastest economic growth. With the continuous improvement of the urban function level, Wuhu will usher in a key strategic opportunity period of building new advantages for development in the next five years. Moreover, MCC"s business layout and development direction are consistent with Wuhu"s "14th Five-Year Plan". Therefore, the two sides have broad cooperation space and bright cooperation prospects. He hoped that MCC will give full play to its advantages in design, construction, technology, capital, and management, actively participate in local municipal transportation, urban renewal, ecological and environmental protection, and new energy materials, further improve the docking mechanism, strengthen contact and interaction, build a cooperation platform, and make joint efforts in work to fully promote the implementation and effectiveness of various practical cooperation measures. The CPC Wuhu Municipal Committee and Municipal Government will maintain close contact with MCC and provide all-round policy support and optimal services for MCC"s local development as always.
